In June 2022, we, Maarten and André, started a journey into the unknown. 130,000 sqm of wild terrain, secret ruins, and old history hidden deep inside the once so flourishing Quinta south of Lisbon. With the help of dozens of volunteers, the burned land of Arrábida was reawakened. Gazillions of trees, which we planted, are currently digging their roots deep into the mountain to one day stand tall as a sheltering forest for future generations.

The heart of our project in the valley along the rewilding stream began to grow into a creative hub, where old crafts are being kept alive and new techniques find their niches to bridge the past with the future. Studios for ceramic, metal, wood, and fabric are already part of the landscape, while new cornerstones are being 3D-printed for upcoming artistic spaces.

To allow full immersion within our endlessly growing playground, our blue monster was born—an artist residency, a guesthouse, a vacation home, a workshop center, a retreat venue, the pearl of the oyster, you name it. Rescued and upcycled materials were fused into unique apartments, where every detail carries a story of its own.
